Many updates to report! ^_^ Site Color Change The MLPTP has changed from a minty green to a misty purple theme! Left Menu Changes and Additions Make sure you carefully read all the links to the left before clicking! They've been shuffled around a little bit, due to the addition of some new forums. - Marketplace (Wanted to Buy, Sell, Trade, Auctions, and Trader Feedback): is now at the top of the forum list. These forums are still only for the classified ad-like advertisement of MLP Items Only (except Wanted to Trade, and Trader Feedback, per normal activity). - MLP Discussion (General Discussion, Customs & Artwork, and Show & Tell): where only topics involving MLP are to be discussed, in slightly more specific forums. - Off-Topic Discussion (Introductions, Friends Discussion, Testing Forum): where you will find the usual Non-MLP chatter going on. - Help (Forum Rules, FAQ): with links to important information you should know about the MLPTP. For more detailed information about what each section is for, please click here! This information can also be found at the top of each board. New Forums Added There are now three new forums at the MLPTP. Introductions This board is for new members to the MLPTP to introduce themselves to the existing community. Customs & Artwork This board is for discussion related to MLP Customs and Artwork. Subjects include: Displaying customs or artwork, and questions related to both. Reminder! Please, no Marketplace advertisements here. Show & Tell This board is for members to let loose and brag about their good finds, and collections. Post here about your auction wins, auction losses, flea-market finds, gifts, collection photos, pony room, and/or find out just how good of a deal you got! What's Coming Up? - Some additions/changes to the MLPTP FAQ, including an etiquette section (previously referred to as the "newbie guide"). - A 2003 thank you graphic for MLPTP Supporters who have donated to the TP in 2003. - Other items, to be announced at a later date... Comments or questions are welcome. ^_^ posted by mlptp on 9:26 AM |

6 More Months of Gold Community Purchased! Thanks to numerous donations from the MLPTP community, we were able to extend our subscription to EZboard.com's Gold Community service for six more months. That means we're ad-free until September! Thanks to everyone who has donated, bought EZsupporter, and those of you who put the effort into running a fund raiser to help the MLPTP raise the much needed funds to stay ad-free. Each one of you makes a huge difference! ^_^ I'm currently working on a 2003 "I donated" graphic for the MLPTP. I will post it here when it's complete. posted by mlptp on 2:32 PM |

Recently, we've been notified by rpgworlds that we have to relocate our chatroom to another server. Our chatroom was a special exception to some of their rules, and unfortunately, they no longer wish to support a room of the TP's variety. Everyone will need to re-register their nicknames. Instructions for doing so are the same as usual, type: /msg nickserv register yourpasshere Those who use the javachat chat center client will not have to do anything different to log on. However, for those of you who connect with mIRC, or Trillian, here is the new connect info: Server: chocobo.esper.net Ports: 5555, 6666, 6667, 6668, 6669, 7000 Channel: #mlptp posted by mlptp on 10:45 PM |

Due to numerous requests to set limits on signatures, changes have been made to the Signature Guidelines! Signature guidelines are as follows: - Total size of the signature elements (including blinkies and all graphics) should be 50k (50,000 bytes) or less. - Dimensions of any graphic should be width=300 x height=180 pixels or less. - No more than 2 graphics. - No more than 5 lines of text. - No quiz or personality test results. - All TP posting rules apply to signatures. Some quick clarifications: - On total signature size of 50k, this means that when you add up the size of all of your signature elements, that it is 50k or less. For example: You can have two graphics, one can be 40k the other can be 6k, which equals 46k. That is less than 50k total, so the sig is ok, provided it adheres to the other rules. (Thanks LM and Lynx for bringing this up - I wanted to make sure this is as clear as possible.) - Blinkies are allowed, but please keep them SMALL if you plan to use them in your signature (see above for size restriction). - Blinkies do count as a graphic, and do count toward the two graphic limit. (Thanks Heaven Draven for bringing this up.) - Quiz and personality test results can be posted in threads where everyone is taking the test, but not permanently in your signature.. Enforcing the Rules: We will be enforcing the signature guidelines, as violations are brought to our attention. TP members are invited to let others know when their signature is violating the rules. Please reply to one of their posts to let them know. If the person will not change their signature, please email abuse@mlptp.com, and include the board name of the person, a link thread where someone asked them to change their signature. The moderators will email the person to request that they change their sig. If the person is seen using the sig in question after the mod's email goes out, they will be banned from the boards. (We do not like banning... but unfortunately, it is one of the only ways we have to enforce the rules.) How to Check the Size of Your Sig: If you are not sure how large your signature is, and want to check, please do the following. Post a test post on the Testing Forum. Then, look at your post. Right click on each of your graphics, and select properties. Look at both the "Size" field and "Dimensions" (this is width x height). To get the Total Size you will need to add the file sizes together. Sometimes this doesn't work. If you get a reading of -1 for the size, you will have to save the graphic to your local computer and right click on it there to get the accurate properties to show up. Getting Help: If you need help with your sig, please take it to the Testing Forum, and ask for help there. If someone cannot help you, you must either remove your sig, or turn it off when using the TP boards. To All Blinkie Makers: I'm not sure how many of you are out there, so rather than send an email that might not cover everyone, I'm putting a note to you here in this thread. ^_^ When making blinkies for people in the future, please keep the size guidelines in mind so that people will be able to use your blinkies in their signature here. Pinwheel mentioned that she informs those who ask for "movie blinkies" (the large sort) to put them on a website, rather than use them in their signature - that may be something other blinkie makers can tell people, since most people who have blinkies made might not be html or file size savvy. Comments: We know that not everyone will be happy with these new rules, but try to remember that these rules are going in so that people with slower computers and connections can view the boards without problems... ^_^ posted by mlptp on 12:21 PM |

- EZboard Soon to Go to Version 7.0! Get the full release info here. Pay special attention to the section on how free accounts are going to change. Custom signatures will no longer be HTML enabled for free accounts. To help ease this incoming change, the MLPTP has enabled EZcodes on all boards so that the free account users will not be restricted to plain text signatures. If you plan to update your sig to EZcode format, make sure to keep all test posts on the Testing Forum. - Want to donate to the MLPTP? Go here! All donations $1.00 and up are appreciated! Check out the current list of donors! - The 2002 "I donated!" graphic is now available! If you have donated to the MLPTP in 2002, this graphic is for you. Save this graphic to your local web server, and link back to the MLPTP, or just cherish the graphic as a private keepsake. (Please do not alter this graphic, or display it if you haven't donated.) All of the members at the MLPTP thank generous donors like you for helping to support a place they love to go to talk ponies! ![]() posted by mlptp on 8:32 PM |
