Rules and Netiquette on the MLPTP:
All message boards at the MLPTP are currently moderated. What this means, is that periodic checks for misplaced posts will be performed. Any posts found to violate the rules of the MLPTP may be deleted or locked immediately, without warning, and at the complete discretion of the moderators, and administrators. Excessive violations of the rules can lead to your ID, IP address, and email address being banned from using the MLPTP boards. Any questions or problems regarding these rules, or to report a rule violation, please email abuse@mlptp.com.

The following rules are currently in effect:

New Members: Please make sure that you have read and are familiar with the rules below. Newbies to the MLPTP are expected to make their first post on the Introductions board. Please introduce yourself, and tell us a little about you and/or your love for My Little Ponies. The MLPTP is very newbie friendly, so don't be shy!
Keep Posts Relevant and On Topic: Please keep posts relevant to the board you are using. For more information on what each board is used for, see the How to Post section, and read the summary paragraph at the top of each board.
No Profanity, Flames, or Adult Themes: No threats, mean-spirited remarks, or name-calling! This includes linking to sites that contain this kind of information, or attempts to fool the language filter with odd characters. Everyone is expected to be tactful, respectful, and nice to each other. Please take care when interacting with others. The MLPTP Members are a globally diverse group of people, including children! Please keep your posts on an "all ages" level, and there shouldn't be a problem.
No Anonymous Posts or IDs: Anonymous posts intended to cause controversy, harrassment, or impersonate others will not be tolerated, and will be removed. Anonymous IDs used for the same purpose will be banned, with no warning.
Multiple IDs Are Strongly Discouraged: The MLPTP prefers that you use one main ID for the majority of your posts to encourage trust among members, and to keep confusion to a minimum. If you accidently post using an ID that does not identify your MLPTP persona, you should follow up to your post with your main MLPTP ID letting people know it's you. Multiple IDs used to lie about your identity, impersonate others, or cause confusion will be banned from the boards. Multiple IDs made for the sole purpose of an event, web page, or cause (this includes IDs that are used by more than one person) are allowed provided that their use does not violate any other existing MLPTP Rules.
No Flooding: Please do not flood the boards with posts! Use common sense to post reasonably and responsibly. Excessive posting in an attempt to raise your status from "Bushwoolie" to something higher in a matter of minutes/hours is considered flooding. Thread games are discouraged on our forums, please exercise restraint, and don't start them.
Practice Netiquette Rules: Please follow basic netiquette guidelines. Failing to do so is considered very rude, and can cause people to avoid reading your posts! Some examples: Do not type your posts in LOTS OF CAPS, use too much HTML, use giant text, display large graphics, clashing colors, etc.
Signature Guidelines are as Follows:
- Total size of all graphics (when added together) should be 50k or less.
- Total dimensions of all graphics (when placed side-by-side, or top-to-bottom) should no more than width=300 x height=180 pixels.
- Signatures that interfere with the forum layout are prohibited.
- No more than 2 graphics.
- No more than 5 lines of text.
- Blank lines count toward your 5 lines of text.
- No quiz or personality test results.
- All TP posting rules apply to signatures.
Avatar Guidelines are as Follows:
- Size should be 10k or less.
- Dimensions should be 85 x 85 or less.
Enforcement: The moderators will be enforcing the signature & avatar guidelines, as violations are brought to our attention. TP members are encouraged to let a fellow member know when her signature is violating the rules, by replying to a recent post she's made. If she will not change her signature, please email abuse@mlptp.com, and include her board name, a link to the thread where her signature violates the rules. The moderators will email the person to request that she change her sig. If she cannot or will not change her sig to conform to the above rules, she must either remove her sig completely, or turn it off when using the TP boards. Failure to amend a signature that violates the rules is considered to be a serious offense, and may warrant an immediate banning from the boards.
Check the Size: If you are not sure how large your signature is, and want to check, please do the following. Place a test post on the Testing Forum. Then, look at your post. Right click on each of your graphics, and select properties. Look at both the "Size" field and "Dimensions" (this is width x height). Sometimes this doesn't work. If you get a reading of -1 for the size, wait for the file to completely load. If it still shows up as -1, you will have to save the graphic to your local computer and right click on it there to get the accurate properties to show up. If you have more than one graphic, to get the Total Size you will need to add the file sizes together.
Get Help: If you have no idea how to check or change your signature, or if you just want to make sure your signature does not violate the rules, please request help in the Testing Forum.

How to Post on the MLPTP:
Before you post anything, please understand what each of the different boards are for. Each board has been created for a certain type of post. Please read over these descriptions carefully.

Marketplace: The Marketplace at the MLPTP is a classified section, specifically designed for My Little Pony items only**. Discussion is not allowed in Auctions, Wanted to Buy, Wanted to Sell, or Wanted to Trade. Trader Feedback is a little different, see description below.

Auctions: You would post here if you are currently running a MLP auction. (Some examples: eBay, Yahoo, and/or private auctions, etc.) Don't forget to put your auction link in your ad!
Want to Buy: You would post here if you are interested in paying money to purchase MLP's. This is a good place to advertise your wants. Dealers, and other collectors looking to sell their items, will browse this section in search of buyers like you!
Want to Sell: You would post here if you are interested in selling MLP items you own. This is a good place to unload some of your extras for some cash! Don't forget to include your contact info in your ad!
Want to Trade: You would post here if you are interested in exchanging MLP's you own, for MLP's that other collectors own. Usually, it is best for people at the MLPTP to trade, because trading helps two collectors at once!
**The Wanted to Trade section is special! If you are trading away MLP for non-MLP items, or are trading non-MLP items for MLP, this is ok, as long as one part of your trade involves MLP!
Trader Feedback: This board is to be used to discuss good and bad buyers, sellers, and traders only. The MLPTP invites you to share the good and bad experiences that you have had in buying, selling, or trading MLP's.

My Little Pony Discussion: The MLP Discussion section is for topics that specifically concern anything, and everything MLP. Off-Topic discussions, or Marketplace ads are NOT allowed here. Please make sure that you do not crosspost your topic to more than one board at a time.

General Discussion: This board is for My Little Pony related general discussion. Post your MLP related messages here for: questions, chat, events, announcements, stories, information, pony meets, club meetings, pen-pal requests, etc.
Customs & Artwork: This board is for discussion related to MLP Customs and Artwork. Subjects include: Displaying customs or artwork, and questions related to both. Reminder! Please, no Marketplace advertisements here.
Show & Tell: This board is for members to let loose and brag about their good finds, and collections. Post here about your auction wins, auction losses, flea-market finds, gifts, collection photos, pony room, and/or find out just how good of a deal you got!

Off-Topic Discussion: The MLP Discussion section is for topics that are not about MLP at all. Marketplace ads, or MLP topics are NOT allowed here.

Introductions: This board is for new members to the MLPTP to introduce themselves to the existing community.
Friends Discussion: This board is for non-MLP general discussion. Post your messages here concerning personal news, announcements, opinions, or general discussion. Please note, this board is NOT for the SALES, WANTS, or TRADES of non-MLP items. Discussion only.
Testing Forum: This board is to be used to for posts that are considered to be "test" posts. These instances include: Checking your post status, checking and announcing your post count, testing your signature or blinkie, experimenting with smiley emoticons or html, and any other "just testing" post along these lines. MLPTP Members may reply to help those in need, but please keep discussion to a minimum.

Click on the "New Topic" or "Reply" button, as applies. Write some text that expresses your thoughts or wishes in brief detail, making sure to spell and grammar check your words. If you keep your email address private, make sure to put it at the end of your post so that people can contact you!
